NotNorthNews.org had a chance to speak with Jim from Fallen From the Sky about their current recording sessions and where they are in terms of recording their next full-length.
Jim had this to say about the recording:
Most of the writing for our next record was done during tour breaks all throughout 2009. We were lucky to travel across the country with our great friends in Static Radio NJ, Signature Escape, Casey Jones, Hour Of The Wolf, Energy, Title Fight and finally with New Found Glory to wrap up a very eventful year. Needless to say, any down time at home was put to good use, jamming or demoing songs at Justin’s (our guitar player) home studio. FFTS stayed hard at work all year long.
As of the new year we have 11 tracks, however we’re aiming at having somewhere between 15 to 20 songs to choose from. Being able to write, record, mix and fully produce your own music is something I can’t even put into words, 100% recommended to everyone involved in music. Our band has adopted a DIY ethic since 2002, but being able to craft songs from thin air, all the way to a finished product, all within the resources of the band, makes it that much more of a rewarding experience. The material is coming out great and it’s by a landslide the best to date. We have a song up from the pre-production sessions on our myspace for everyone to get a sneak peak on where we’re heading.
We have a lot of things in the works, we’ll keep everyone posted via twitter, myspace and facebook. Stay tuned and expect a great FFTS record sometime this year. It’s too early to know release dates, however we’re aiming to enter the studio sometime in April and have it out by summer time on a brand new label, which we are all very excited about. Thanks to everyone at www.NotNorthNews.org for the support, and HS to you for checking this out.
Go ahead and check out their new track from their pre-production sessions titled, Burning Stars from their myspace. For more info you can stay up to date by following them via twitter, myspace and facebook.
The band has also lost their guitarist of 6 years, Ky Morland. The band had this to say:
We would also like to announce the departure from the band of our 6 year guitarist Ky Morland. We wish him the best of luck and thank him for his great contribution and effort towards the growth of the band since he joined in 2004, we will keep you guys posted on who will fill the 5th spot in the FFTS family.
Fallen From the Sky last released Tonight We Radiate in 2008.
