Reviews: Owl City, Lights, Deas Vail

February 4, 2010 at Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Owl City. We’ve all heard of him over the last year. His now very popular song, Fireflies, has been playing the radio non stop. I recently went to see him with Lights and Deas Vail at Culture room and had a great time!

First off, opening band Deas Vail blew me away with their interesting style and positive vibe shown through their music (had me buying both EPs after the show which are amazing!).

Next off there was Lights. You were soon head bopping along to her catchy lyrics and upbeat style.

To finish the show was main act, Owl City. Unlike many mainstream artists he was brillant live and made you feel like you were listening to the recorded version. He showed off his unique style by bringing two orchestra members along with him on tour giving a great string sound. He also played newer songs and some off of his old EPs for you long time fans. To sum up the night it was great! Can’t wait for them all to come back down to the south!
