The SkaFest 2010 Tour will be heading through Florida for three dates in Mid-June: June 11th in Pompano Beach at Rocketown, June 12th in Tampa at Transitions Art Gallery, and June 13th in Tallahassee at The Engine Room. Skacore Records has been running the SkaFEST series annually in Tampa since 2005, and this is the first year that it is branching out to both North and South Florida as well.
This tour will feature eight of the South-east’s best touring ska bands, along with two local bands at each show. Highlights on June 11th in South Florida include Tampa’s Paranoia Dance Party!, a unique blend of ska, hardcore, and dance-rock, and The Taj Motel Trio from Georgia, who are back for their sixth consecutive year on the SkaFEST series. Other bands playing Pompano Beach include The Strikeouts!, King Rooster, Victims of Circumstance, Plan Z, 50:50 Shot, Chilled Monkey Brains, The Sweet Kings, and Diversity is an Old Wooden Ship.
Doors to the event’s open at 2:00pm, and the shows will last all day. Tickets are available at www.FloridaSka.com for $10, or you can pay at the doors for $12. All three shows are all ages.
